Elyse Wanshel is an award-winning journalist, based in New York City. She is currently a reporter for HuffPost, where she covers entertainment, gender, human interest, inequality, culture and disability. In 2019 she won Verizon’s Accessibility Champion Award for her innovative work changing the way the HuffPost newsroom covers disability. Elyse previously worked as a humor columnist for the Miami New Times and her work has also appeared in Vice, Time Out New York and Gizmodo. Elyse is also legally blind and can see how many fingers you’re holding up — so don’t ask.
